About Impact Developmental Program

For the first time the WCI organization will be starting the Impact Developmental Program (IDP). This program specializes in basic basketball skills and development for girls in 2nd-7th grade.

The mission of IDP is to introduce young athletes to the proper skills and techniques of basketball while helping to develop a passion for the game, in a fun and well-organized structure. IDP also serves as a development program catering to girls interested in becoming part of our traveling teams. IDP will focus, but not be limited to, basic mechanics including footwork (jump stops, pivots), dribbling, and shooting a basketball. In addition, we will introduce "court lingo" so players can better understand basic terminology and court dynamics.

IDP was developed and will be ran by current Impact coaches and players. If you have a young child interested in basketball and fits the criteria below, please register HERE.

  • Can hold, bounce and catch a ball.
  • Can listen and follow instructions.
  • Is enthusiastic about learning the game of basketball in a fun, structured setting.
  • Aspires to play on a West Coast Impact travel team in the future.

This year’s IDP will start October 18, 2019.  The players will have the opportunity to practice and improve their skills twice a week, on Fridays and Sundays, and also have the opportunity to compete in games against each other once  a week, on Sundays.

West Coast Impact is expecting a lot of registrations from different school districts from the area.  For that reason we will only be taking the first 50 that will register.

We look forward to introducing, teaching and developing the young girls from our area the correct way of playing basketball.
